Ahriman's Legion Veteran Tatical Squad Omikron
Blackmane's Intercessors
First Primaris myself painted so far. Really similar to other Space Marines, see #TaticalSquad. This model was painted before the Space Wolves Codex from 8. Edition was released, so I need make some artistic decisions. First the position inside the pack: Is this model a Blood Claw, Grey Hunter or Wolf Guard? As Primaris fells like Rookies, he was clearly a Blood Claw. Second question: Which Great Company from the Space Wolves would take care of someone like him? Who could be better than the Young King? So I placed him in Ragnar Blackmanes Great Company and choose a red paw for his unit. Last decision was about the typical gold details for Space Wolves: How many? Where to place? And so on... For the first unit I just picked up the backpack. Still not sure about it, but for a Blood Claw it should be enough. Okay at least I need to paint 4 more of them.
Blackmane's Primaris Lone Wolf
This Primaris was delivered as some kind of special model with some magazine. Mostly related to the fancy base, with all these stones, symbols and so on. Anyway this was perfect as some kind of Lone Wolf or Wolf Guard Battle Leader. His shoulder pad wears a similar pack sign like Raegrecs Blades, mostly to support them if necessary.
Captain Aethon's Legion Veteran Tatical Squad Ny
Captain Aethon's Legion Veteran Tatical Squad Ny were fuse together during the Betral at Calth. Take a look at the different models. Referring to the amazing healing ability from Ultramarines one of them is still fighting, even with only one hand and one leg remaining. Also you will notice the red helmet marine with two swords. During The Horus Heresy these red helmets were used to mark a marine for punishment. This red helmet marine represents Sergeant Aeonid Thiel, a famous warrior during the Horus Heresy. All bits for this model were chosen related to the cover art from Neil Roberts for the Short Story Censure.
Drekka's Nightblades
The Nightblades based on a funny story. My Battle Brother and I were drinking some Mate. We had several discussions about Warhammer 40000, Painting and Playing. My Brother was struggled about the whole painting stuff, like me in the beginning. So I pick up some frames and paints and placed in front of him. The result are two Wolf Scouts and later several Ork units that was painted by him. Sadly these Orks slay many many of my Blood Claws so far.
Horrors of Tzeentch
When a Blue Horror is cut down, it split into two Brimstone Horrors. As the Brimstone Horrors where the first models myself painted for the Silver Tower, there bases are quite different compared to other models. While the Brimstone Horrors were highlighted, the Blue Horrors were dry brushed. Moreover as 90 percent of these models are in one color the shade were applied all over. Afterwards the different details were painted and highlighted. Next model for the Horrors of Tzeentch series will be Pink Horrors.
Kurtha Seed's Legion Veteran Tatical Squad Rho
Kurtha Seed's Legion Veteran Tatical Squad Rho consists out of ten Tactical Marines. It takes some time until every marine was completely painted. Armory was chosen depending on the Betral at Calth rules, so seven Marines carry a bolter. While the remaining Members taken a melter, rocket launcher and power fist. The Sergeant carriers a lettered power fist and a bolt pistol. His backpack were taken from some #DarkAngels sprue. Furthermore take a look at the banner bearer, with his lowered bolter and fascinated field of vision. Maybe you already notice the marine equipped with rocket launcher and eye lenses. As there are Word Bearers who served the dark Gods, even a more cultism marine who already sacrifice his hand is there.
Kurtha Seed's Legion Veteran Tatical Squad Sigma
After Kurtha Seed's Legion Veteran Tatical Squad Rho I switch to Squad Sigma. They are really similar to Squad Rho, except from their bases. The basic idea, while Squad Rho is running for their lives on the surface of Calth, Squad Sigma displays a unit which already reach the underground. As they are seems to be more experienced, their armor is way more lettered with signs and scriptures. Also their left shoulder pads are altered with silver bolts. These bolts can also be seen on their legs.
Phodian Hive Warriors
After painting a lot of #Genestealers this unit was taken. Armory is oriented by the Shield of Baal Campaign, Bone swords, wipes and venom canon. During the painting process these models where sub-assembly, so the arms were painted separately. Furthermore these unit was not completely shaded like previous Genestealers, the Shade was only applied into recesses. Shading the thorax in this way was a little bit challenging, after all it succeed and looks well, in compensation to the Genestealers. Thereupon the Canifex and Broodlord followed.
Poxwalkers
One of the Poxwalkers from Dark Imperium boxset. During the painting process different approaches with shades were try. Maybe you notice the pustule in different colors.
RaegrecÂ’s Blades
Raegrecs Blades are eight Grey Hunters that were deployed at Alric Prime. Each of them is equipped with a different weapon, mostly different sorts of blades. Okay they are not according to the Codex rules, related to the Lore not really uncommon for the Space Wolves Chapter. Furthermore take a look at the different Details of this Unit. So one of them take the helmet of a Dark Angel after a duel as trophy. Another one declare one Chainaxe from his enemy for himself after skirmish. One of them is taking care of different tracks. According to their pack sign on their should pads, most of them got a Wolf with Blade in black color, except from their pack leader who is wearing just an red wolf.
Raphen's Death Company
Raphen and his Brothers fight alongside with Captain Aethon during the Shield of Baal Campaign. Still remembering all the countless blood drops. To paint only these tiny drops take at least a whole afternoon. One specific model own round about 20 of them... However painting the whole Squad was quite funny and was done within a week. The basing of the Squad is reference to Squad Alphaeus and Cassor the Damned, to get some link between the three units. Thereupon the next model to paint was Cassor the Damned, he was way easier and with way less blood drops.
Space Hulk Genestealers
When you are going to get a box with different #Tyranids or Genestealer Cults you can be sure there should be some Genestealers within. After painting 20 of them in #Leviathan color theme, myself decided to switch for some Space Hulk specific theme. So this four Genestealers where more for testing, than painting more Tyranids. After finishing these unit I notice that it got a leak of highlights. Also the basing is still missing. Maybe we should repeat this test nowadays and also take some work to the bases.
Spawn of Cryptus
A Broodlord from high fleet Leviathan, also called Spawn of Cryptus. Still remembering the modeling process. Getting these model on his fancy base take many tries, during these also the tongue broke into two pieces. In the end the tongue ended up really downside, related to the original position. At least it does not harm the model and looks really well. During the painting process the arms were painted separately and glue together afterwards. Like all other Tyranids the base from Spawn of Cryptus still needs some work.
Squad Alphaeus
The first figures myself painted for the Shield of Baal Campaign and also the second Squad painted so far. Maybe you will notice the thick paint on the models. Relating to the time I was really new at this Hobby and so myself take the paint directly out of the pot to the miniatures. Not even primer are applied to them. The Bases where made with stones and some #Tyranids Bits which remained from previous painted Units. Also referring to fact that these models are related to my first days in this Hobby the whole Squad was nearly fully sub-assembled.
Tactical Squad Delta
Dark Angels are also called First Legion before #TheHorusHeresy. So it just suitable that these are my first models ever painted. It's a little bit ironic that I was thinking about starting this Hobby and painting some Space Wolves. It happened like that myself visit a hobby store and this was the only remaining starter box: Five miniatures with six paints. After finishing four of them, the next step were the models from Shield of Baal Campaign box. The last model, the Sergeant, was later give away to someone else who was also thinking about starting with this Hobby. So these Unit will never receive his Sergeant and stay with four Brothers - Delta.
The Children of Cryptus
The Children of Cryptus consist out of many many Genestealers from high fleet Leviathan. Related to the fact that these are one of my early units, a lot of disadvantageous during the modeling and painting process were made. Every single piece of these unit were painted in fully sub-assemblies. Paint was taken directly out of the pot thought the models. Shading in most of the cases were applied fully over the whole models. Nevertheless the highlights were made with a detail brush. Also the bases need some work, maybe they will get some rework in the future with the other Tyranids models from high fleet Leviathan.
Thorfinn Doomseeker
Thorfinn Doomseeker is a member of Ragnar Blackmanes Great Company and also Lone Wolf who fights on Alric Prime. Additionally to his Terminator Armor, Storm Bolter and Power fist he takes the shield of a Space Wolves #Dreadnought in front of him, dodging possible hits. A lot of glue was necessary for this Dreadnought shield to get in position. However he was just one of the three Lone Wolfs from Alric Prime Campaign, still need to model and paint the others.
